After waking to the sound of cows mooing, I was able to fully take in the sights of Basil’s Brush. The view was incredible. The restored house has everything from a fully equipped kitchen, pool, gas heating, children’s bunk bedroom and a spacious deck.

Basils Brush was our home away from home for the month of march. It was the perfect base because it had something for everyone. The location was brilliant for exploring the area, my parents loved pottering in the garden with the children, the pool was sparkling, time melted away while swinging in the hammock – I can’t remember ever feeling so relaxed! The fact that everything you needed was provided, not to mention the amazing style and comfort means that we will be recommending it to everyone. Thanks for the fantastic holiday!

My family of seven stayed in beautiful Basil’s Brush last weekend and we just loved it. It was such a perfect few days catching up with local family. We voted the house the best we have stayed in so far. No-one wanted to leave and we will definitely be back. The view was to-die-for and our favourite spot to enjoy the perfect weather was at the long table on the verandah. We used the pool often and even had a table tennis tournament. I loved reading the story of how the house was moved from Lismore and how much hard work and thought went into it. The three children loved the secret tunnel leading into the bunk room.

Everything was wonderful. We all loved the house and its location and all the ‘extras’ that you don’t ordinarily find in holiday accommodation – particularly the children’s toys, games and books. On our last morning, we woke to the sound of heavy rain and it was just lovely, standing on the verandah watching the rain while we drank a cup of tea! We really didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back at some stage in the future.

Our dream house! We spent time at Basil’s after our wedding in April 2009 and can’t wait to go back with family later in the year. Perfect location in the hinterland to get away from it all but still close to the beach and right near Bangalow. Great place to get together with family or friends with plenty of space. We love the farmhouse furniture and all the little details. A beautiful beginning to married life.
